Invasive Plant Removal (20-40ish birders focus)
September 19 @ 10:00 am-12:00 pm
Join us for invasive plant removal as we work together to restore and protect our local natural areas. Volunteers will help identify and remove multiple invasive plant species that threaten native habitats and reduce biodiversity. Tools provided and Conservation Chair Pat Stutz will teach volunteers about native and invasive plants.
This event is being promoted to Bird Alliance’s Thirty, Birdy & Thriving group for 20-40ish year-old birders, but conservation advocates outside this age range are welcome to join.
PREPARATION & ACCESS CONSIDERATIONS: Tools will be provided, but remember your own water, and dress for outdoor activity and to get dirty. This workday requires standing, maneuvering over flat and uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, lifting, and takes place in sun/heat/humidity/chilly weather. You may bring gloves or use ours as provided.
LOCATION: Meet at Riverside Adventure Park in Indianapolis. Pat will provide more specific location details before the event.
REGISTRATION: If you’re interested in volunteering at this event, email volunteer coordinator, Olivia Bautch, at engagement@birdallianceofcentralindiana.org to register. Curious about volunteer opportunities? Our volunteer page is live at https://www.birdallianceofcentralindiana.org/volunteer/
