SUMMARY:Marott Woods Late Migrant Bird Hike
DESCRIPTION:Amos Butler Audubon Society and Friends of Marott Woods Nature Preserve join together for a\nlate migrant hike at the preserve on May 23\, 2026 from 8:30-11:00 am. Our leaders\, Matthew\nKrohn and Brandon Roberts\, have keen ears and eyes for finding our late warblers\, other\nmigrants such as a possible Olive-sided Flycatcher\, and nesting birds as well.\nMarott Woods Nature Preserve is a 99-acre site that runs along Williams Creek\, a tributary of\nthe White River. Trails wind their way around the beautiful old growth woods and along the\ncreek.\nThe park is bordered on the north by 75th Street and on the west by College Ave. There is a\nsmall parking area off of College Ave north of 73rd Street. If that area is full\, there may be\nadditional parking in the neighborhood south of the park. You will meet your leaders at the\nCollege Ave shelter.\nTo sign up\, please email Laurie Voss at: laurievoss25@gmail.com at least five days before the\nscheduled hike. Please include your phone number in case of last-minute changes. SUMMARY:Summer Game Night with Thirty\, Birdy & Thriving
DESCRIPTION:You asked for another game night\, so we’re delivering! Bird-lovers between the ages of 20 and 40(ish) are invited to attend a bird-nerdy game night on the evening of Wednesday\, July 15 at the Holliday Park Nature Center. We’ll be in the classroom where there will be multiple tables set up to play Wingspan and other nature-themed games\, along with refreshments. \n  \nSince the game allows five players max\, we want you to bring your copies too! Our focus is Wingspan\, but feel free to bring any bird- or nature-themed tabletop or strategy games you have and would be willing to teach to your table. If you’ve never played or don’t remember how to play\, don’t worry! The evening is meant to be highly casual\, and competition won’t be too intense (okay\, we can’t promise that part). \n  \nThis program is limited to 20 participants and registration is required. Priority registration for ABAS members until June 6\, but non-members should sign up early\, as once registration is open\, it’s first come first serve.
